FAQs

How long does the process take?

The day of your scheduled inspection can take anywhere from about 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the number of areas we are scanning. Following your inspection, our team will do a thorough analysis of the data collected and generate a report in 7-10 business days. Please note, the time frame of a report is subject to change at the discretion of the analysis team and is dependent on the complexity of the situation.

Does it need to be raining for my appointment?

No ! Many people are surprised to learn we do not want it to rain the day before or the day of a scheduled diagnostic.  If there is moisture present on the surface area of the building, it is impossible to trace back the exact source and origin due to oversaturation of the building envelope.

What is the cancellation policy?

Please provide us with at least a 48 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. There is no cancellation or rescheduling fee.

How much does it cost?

The cost of a diagnostic varies on geographic location and the number of areas you are looking to have sourced. We charge by the number of areas you are noticing water damage, at a flat rate. If you have more than 3 areas that are leaking we can conduct a walkthrough free of charge. We do not charge upfront and accept payment only when we are able to find the water leak source and a solution. A 50% down payment is required for projects over $1,000. Our cost includes the diagnostic appointment, a comprehensive report, and a warranty for the service.  If we cannot diagnose the exact source of the issue then you will not be charged.

What happens if you can’t find the source of the leak?

In rare cases, there is a chance that we won’t find the source of the leak the first time, but not to worry. If our team cannot determine the source of the leak you are either eligible for a rescan at no additional cost or, if we feel the situation is too complex for our system to solve, we will terminate the project and you will not be charged for the service provided. We do not collect payment, unless we are sure we can provide you with the answers you need to solve the water leak issue.

Once I get the report, will you come fix the leak?

Our company is strictly diagnostics. We will be able to determine the source of the leak and provide suggested repairs for your contractor. If you don’t have a contractor, we can provide recommendations upon request.  We stay independent from the repair process so as to avoid any conflict of interest.

How does the technology work?

We approach water leaks from a forensic perspective.  Utilizing a multi variable system, we are able to collect the necessary data relevant to the problem, analyze that data and confirm the exact source of the water leak issue.  The primary variable we utilize is infrared imaging.  Using both hand held and drone infrared technology, we acquire the temperature gradients formed when water enters the structure creating a graphical representation of the water entry.  We then track that graphical signature back to its original point of entry through the envelope of the building.  We combine the infrared data with several other variables such as staining patterns, structural layout, symptoms described by the customer and historical issues with similar type building structures, creating a holistic view of exactly how the water is entering the structure and, based on the type of material associated with the water leak issue,  determine the overall underlying waterproofing defect causing the water infiltration.

When will I receive my report?

Our target dispatch for a report is 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS, depending on the number of areas. Upon receipt of payment your report and warranty documentation will be dispatched via email.

*Note: Dispatch date is subject to change, due to the extensive nature of our analytical process.

Please see below, report dispatch times based on number of issues analyzed:

1 - 4 Leaks: (7) to (10) business days

5 - 8 Leaks: (10) to (14) business days

9-10 Leaks: (14) business days

10+ leaks: Variable - (14)+ business days

What's so special about an infrared scan?

So many times, we have customers say, “I wish I called you first!” People spend thousands of dollars on repairs, only to still have the same issue continue. With the use of our infrared technology and data analytics, we will be able to trace any water leak back to its original source, making repair time much quicker, more cost effective while removing the guesswork entirely.
